The Byron Jumper - or ‘Gansey’ jumper - in burgundy takes its name from poet and revolutionary George Gordon Byron, known simply as Lord Byron.
There are many local connections to Lord Byron and in the villages surrounding the Stanley Biggs Studio; his ancestral home being a few miles away at Newstead Abbey and his final resting place in nearby Hucknall. His reputation was such, that 145 years after his death a memorial was finally placed in 'Poets Corner' in St Paul's Cathedral.
 
Ganseys (or ‘Guernseys’, from which they take their name) are steeped in maritime history, and proved invaluable vintage clothing for sailors and fishermen, being both incredibly warm and quick-drying.
