Heritage on two wheels: a journey through the Dales
If you’ve been following Stanley Biggs Clothiers for a while, you’ll know that we live and breathe our story and that we love nothing more than taking our clothes out on the open road.

Recently, we headed to the Yorkshire Dales. Seeking a rugged and quietly beautiful landscape for our latest campaign, we knew that the Dales would be the perfect backdrop for a celebration of British heritage, countryside, and timeless style.
So off we went. Just the two of us, a bicycle (more on that later!) and the open road. The journey alone was a lesson in the quintessentially breathtaking English countryside. I couldn’t help but contemplate the synergy between the journey to the Dales and Stanley Biggs Clothiers. Both are rooted in tradition, quietly confident and built to endure.

Rolling hills, stone walls, winding roads and, of course, the soft unpredictability of British weather. That’s a gentle way of saying it rained. It rained a lot. That’s okay though, because thankfully clothes by Stanley Biggs Clothiers are made for days like this.
The outfit we had chosen for this adventure shoot perfectly suited the setting. A pair of cords and the Barnato Jacket teamed up as a versatile duo, ready for both sun, rain and everything in-between. Life can be so busy and hectic (a feeling I’m sure many of you share!), I really relished the chance to slow down for the day and reconnect with nature and simpler pleasures.
The outfit I had chosen for Tom to wear handled the elements faultlessly, providing comfort, layering and movement. These are the conditions that I design our clothing to handle, so this didn’t come as a surprise. From abbey ruins to bike rides to café stops, this was the perfect ensemble.
My favourite stop on the journey was Jervaulx Abbey. An enchanting place that’s nearly 700 years old, the Abbey’s quiet beauty, ruins and heritage played a big part in the inspiration of this campaign. When we arrived, we took a moment of stillness and reflection to soak up the history and heritage of the Abbey.

As I’ve already teased, there was a third trusted companion on this trip. Elegant, well-build and British to the core, we knew the Guv’nor Bike from Pashley Cycles would be the perfect bike to help us explore the wild scenery of Yorkshire. The Guv’nor perfectly compliments clothing by Stanley Biggs: classic and pragmatic but beautifully and thoughtfully made.
The Guv’nor carried Tom across fields and through the winding lanes, effortlessly adding ease and charm to the journey. It felt really special to take the Guv’nor on this journey. It was also a precursor to something special in the works celebrating the relationship between Stanley Biggs Clothiers and Pashley Cycles: two brands rooted in British history with craftsmanship, heritage and slow living at their core. We look forward to sharing more about this with you soon (good things, like good clothing, take time!).
Overall, this campaign was a fantastic opportunity to showcase Stanley Biggs clothes in their natural environment while also celebrating the rich heritage that our company is all about. We hope you love the pictures as much as we do! We would love to hear your thoughts.
