Each T-shirt in our collection begins with a design inspired by the people, places and stories behind Stanley Biggs. You’ll find the story of this particular design below.
Made from 4oz ringspun, combed organic cotton, the T-shirt has a soft, comfortable feel. The artwork is applied in house using a direct heat transfer.
Wear it on its own or layer it beneath one of our shirts or knitted jumpers.
The story behind the design :
The Battle of Arnhem is central to the story of Stanley Biggs Clothiers. Our namesake, Stanley Biggs, served as a medical orderly with the 181st Airlanding Field Ambulance, RAMC. He died on 25 September 1944, during the final days of the battle.
This design features Bellerophon astride Pegasus, the emblem adopted by the Airborne Forces. The artwork is taken directly from an original design used on an airborne configured Jeep. The maroon and light blue reflect the colours of the Airborne Forces, while the 1944 lettering marks the year of the Battle of Arnhem.
