The Turpin is named for Randolph Turpin, the Leamington-born British middleweight who defied the odds and stunned the world in 1951. This T-shirt honours that same defiant spirit — built not for show, but for strength.
We’ve taken design cues from the classic JC Penney undergarments of the 1940s, when the T-shirt first stepped out from behind closed doors and became a symbol of masculine independence. Like those originals, The Turpin features a straight cut through the body, a sturdy ribbed neck, and vintage-accurate proportions — but we’ve upgraded every material choice.
Cut from 9 oz. heavyweight South American jersey cotton, this fabric is in a class of its own. Dense, structured and rich in texture, it wears like armour but softens with time.
And just like the legends it draws from, The Turpin is proudly made in England — by skilled hands, with careful attention to detail and finish. Reinforced seams, bar-tacked stress points, and a carefully shaped neckline ensure it’s built to take a beating — just like its namesake.
There are no logos. No frills. Just honest quality — the kind that outlasts trends.
