The Arkwright Henley – Returning 2026. Pre-Order Today. Production Begins Jan 2026.
The Arkwright Henley is set to return in 2026 as part of The Biggs Collection, newly remade with an upgraded maker and a superior 9oz heavyweight organic cotton jersey.
This is the finest iteration yet of one of our most-loved heritage garments.
Named after Sir Richard Arkwright — the inventor, entrepreneur, and industrial pioneer whose innovations transformed the textile industry — this garment celebrates both craftsmanship and legacy.
Arkwright’s mechanisation of cotton spinning revolutionised manufacturing and established one of the world’s first factory systems in Cromford, Derbyshire.
Design & Fabric
Crafted from a 9oz heavyweight organic cotton jersey, The Arkwright Henley combines softness, durability, and authenticity. Based directly on an early 20th-century example, it captures the understated utility and practicality of the original working garment.
Featuring knitted jersey sleeves and a calico cotton button placket, it’s designed for layering — equally at home worn on its own or beneath shirts and knitwear. Every detail has been considered, from fit to finish.
Heritage Details
The Henley is finished with English-made Corozo buttons, crafted from the nut of the Tagua palm — a fully sustainable, natural material also known as vegetable ivory. As these nuts fall naturally when ripe, no trees are cut or damaged in their harvest — ensuring both ethical sourcing and enduring quality.
Historically, Henleys were worn as the first layer — a protective vest that kept outer garments clean and added warmth. The Arkwright honours that tradition, bringing period authenticity to a modern, versatile staple.
